Kavitha Now Targeting Tollywood For Political Mileage?

Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kavitha’s recent media statements, in the wake of Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan’s controversy, have drawn attention and sparked debate. Some observers feel her comments may be contributing to regional sensitivities between the two Telugu states, while others see it as part of broader political positioning.

Every time she interacted with the media after that incident, she has repeatedly attacked Pawan Kalyan by mixing up the Telangana sentiment. She has been insisting that Pawan Kalyan should restrict his activities in Telangana purely to the film industry and should not poke into politics.

Today, Kavitha has once again tried to paint the same picture and again appealed to her followers to not encourage Pawan Kalyan beyond films. Quite shockingly, she now started a new narrative to up her political ambitions. This time, she has targeted Tollywood and blamed the artists of the past generation for allegedly made fun the accent and culture of Telangana in their movies.

Kavitha claimed that even before Pawan Kalyan, many actors came to Telangana in the guise of acting and later occupied the state. She shockingly stated that Telangana dialect became popular in movies only after the formation of the state, but it was mocked earlier .

Political observers say that Kavitha is speaking without facts as they are pointing how Tollywood embraced Telangana culture even before the formation of separate state. Prominent industry bigwigs of the past generation like T. Krishna and R. Narayana Murthy made revolutionary movies based on Telangana culture and dialect and they were encouraged by people of united Andhra very well in those days.

Also, Telangana based directors of the present generation depicted the region’s cultural identity through movies which are well received by audiences of both states. Over the years, artists and technicians from both regions flourished in Tollywood and neither of them tried to belittle the culture and traditions of Telugu states.

But, Kavitha is very desperately trying to project a false narrative using the regional sentiment ever since Pawan Kalyan announced that he will contest in Telangana. It is unclear if she really going to benefit out of this lame political strategy.
