Political ambitions and personal incidents must always be seen as two different entities, but this difference does not apply to South Indian politics, which are extremely direct and provocative in nature.
Tamil Nadu chief minister, Vijay had a similar situation in the Assembly today as the opposition leader, Uday Stalin brought up the discussion about his divorce saga that’s currently in court.
In an attempt to target the chief minister, Uday said the people of Tamil Nadu are very well versed with the divorce saga involving a wife who’s searching for her husband at the court.
Uday might not have named Vijay or his wife Sangeeta in this case, but the obvious implication is referring to the divorce proceedings filed by Sangeeta at the Chengalpattu court in February this year.
This case is still active and is going to come to hearing on August 7, and it appears that Uday is looking to verbally provoke Vijay by using the sensitive topic about divorce in the full member Assembly today.
A few people are commenting that this is an extremely cheap shot that has been taken by Uday, who had earlier worked with Vijay in films and showed mutual respect. They are calling out how politics can change the human relations to the worst capacity.
But at the same time, there is also a parallel discussion that this is how things will be in politics, and Vijay will have to be thick-skinned about the same.
