The last time Thalapathy Vijay visited the Karur constituency, it was absolute chaos and misery as a massive stampede that broke out here killed 41 people. This is one of the most consequential political events in Tamil Nadu and was expected to work against Vijay at a political level.
However, this incident did not have a detrimental effect on Vijay. But the good thing here is that Vijay has kept this highly unfortunate incident very close to his heart, and he has come here again with a historically significant cause this time around.
Vijay arrived at the Karur constituency a few minutes back and is currently taking part in a massive public meeting here. He wore a black shirt, perhaps to signify the sympathies that he is extending to the people of this constituency for the earlier unfortunate incident.
Vijay is handing over 32 government job letters to as many family members of the victims, which he had promised earlier. The fact that he stood on his word and is now allocating government jobs to the family members of the victims shows that he is a man of his words.
The chief minister, further communicated that a memorandum will soon be established in Karur as a token of solidarity and respect to the deceased.
This was followed by chief minister Vijay saying that the police department misinformed him earlier in 2025 as they didn’t warn him about the crowd, which caused that infamous stampede in the first place. He was very straightforward with his speech today.
It is good to see a politician stand on his word and actually extend sympathies honestly standing by the family members of the victims when it’s needed the most.
