BJP Changes Its Stand On Amaravati?

The politics in Andhra Pradesh is surrounded around the capitals. The issue of state capital is taking a new turn with each passing day. AP BJP leaders are known for making confusing and contradictory statements every other day.

In yet another such contradictory and confusing statement, none other than AP BJP state unit president Somu Veerraju stated that Amaravati is the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

Somu claimed that all the “development” that is happening in AP is because of PM Narendra Modi and “Modi’s help” for the state. Somu stated that all the central institutions will remain in Amaravati even if the state changes its capital city. Somu Veerraju has attended an event organised by Bharateeya Kisan Sangh in Tullur.

Somu promised the farmers that all the plots offered to Amaravati farmers as compensation would be developed by the BJP with Rs 2000 crore.

Somu reiterated that BJP should win in AP to keep up all the promises made to farmers in the state. Somu stated that the Centre has planned to build a Defence Academy in Nimmakuru in Krishna district which was late NTR’s native village.

Meanwhile, many are lashing out at BJP’s double talk in AP. As BJP is facing a by-election in Tirupati, many are linking Somu Veerraju’s capital comments with the upcoming Tirupati by-poll. Looks like, BJP has changed its stand on Amaravati.

On the other hand, TDP leaders are asking BJP to make its stand clear on Amaravati row. They are also challenging ruling YSRCP to go for referendum on the 3 capitals.
