Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy has been placing a lot of emphasis on public welfare and social activities. He is now on the mission of securing additional funds for the social welfare activities in Telangana.
The chief minister has now publicly spoken about the controversial Miyapur lands that were allocated to the Telangana government by the Supreme Court, despite the efforts from private entities to grab ahold.
For three years, we continuously reviewed this case with lawyers, alerted revenue officials and pursued strong legal arguments through the government and HMDA. Through these efforts, we protected 550 acres in Miyapur, an asset worth ₹50,000 crore, Revanth Reddy said in front of the media today.
This morning, Revanth directed revenue and HMDA officials to immediately take possession of the land, survey it, mark its boundaries and fence it.
If necessary, we will sell it and use the proceeds to educate Dalits, Tribals, Adivasis and children from the poorest families. When people need Indiramma houses and other welfare support, we have a responsibility to mobilise the resources to help them, Revanth said.
Revanth went on to say that protecting this land means protecting resources that can empower women, support disadvantaged communities and create opportunities for those who need them the most.
It appears that the Telangana chief minister is of the intention that these lands in Hyderabad could be sold off for social welfare activities, and he even has an elaborate plan for the same.
