Online Anger Grows Over Delhi Protest Crackdown

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is facing increasing criticism after police used force against students protesting over the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination. The incident, which took place in Delhi on Monday, has sparked a major debate across the country, especially among young people.

Thousands of posts appeared on social media after videos of the protest went viral. Many students, public figures and independent voices questioned why the government did not hold talks with the protesters before police stepped in. They asked whether students demanding answers should be treated with force instead of being heard.

The protest began with demands for action over the NEET issue and calls for accountability from the Central government. As protesters tried to continue their demonstration, police used lathi charges and tear gas to disperse the crowd. Several students and protesters were injured during the clashes. Even heavy rain did not stop many students from continuing their protest.

The police action has become the biggest talking point. Many people pointed out that Prime Minister Modi often speaks about solving issues through discussion and peaceful dialogue when talking about international matters. They are now asking why the same approach was not followed with students protesting in the national capital.

The incident has led to strong reactions from the youth on social media. Many believe students should have been invited for discussions instead of facing police action. The visuals of injured students have further increased criticism against the government.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that the protest organisers may temporarily pause their agitation to give the government time to respond. At the same time, the Centre is said to be exploring talks to reduce tensions. However, there has been no detailed official announcement on the discussions so far.

The NEET protest has now turned into a larger political issue, with the government’s handling of the demonstrations coming under intense public and youth scrutiny.
