Gen Z Power: Government Must Be Very Careful!

After a government completes more than 12 years in power, it is bound to have certain degree of anti incumbency. A similar approach could be taken towards the BJP Government in India, which has been rocks solid since 2014.

However, certain public policy making decisions made by the Modi government had come under the radar of late. The most significant of the lot is obviously the NEET examination hiatus.

This discrepancies in the education department created such huge consequences that the education minister Dharmendra Pradhan had to resign after relentless pressure from the students protest in Delhi.

The fundamental factor that drove this protest is obviously the current generation of youngsters who can be classified as Gen Z. The youth of the country came together in solidarity in the fight against the education minister, and this was simply too much to handle for the government at any level.

It is a blatant fact that the current generation of youngsters are extremely enlightened and have their strong opinions. So messing with them, and looking down on their movement is possibly the worst thing that any government can do.

We recently saw the case of Nepal where the entire government was toppled by the Gen Z movement. India did not witness something so drastic, but the repercussions were pretty strong here as well.

In this social media era, there is nothing that government can do to curb the negativity once it starts to spiral down. A trailer of this was displayed by the Gen Z folk in India as they successfully brought down education minister Dharmendra Pradhan in a matter of two weeks.

This is to be considered as a strong warning or public mandate to the government and certain changes have to be made to the policy making. Or else there is every chance that this generation of youth might take it to the streets again, and there will be significant political waves that could be happening as well.
