Why Lokesh Turned Sudden Target for YSRCP?

For years, YSRCP and its chief YS Jagan mainly focused their political attacks on CM Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. Nara Lokesh was criticised occasionally, but he was never the primary target. That has clearly changed over the last few months.

Today, almost every major issue raised by the opposition is being linked to Lokesh. Whether it is the Mega DSC recruitment, education policies or other government decisions, YSRCP is directly questioning him and even demanding his resignation as Education Minister.

The change reflects Lokesh’s growing importance in Andhra Pradesh politics. Since the TDP led NDA government came to power, he has been playing a much bigger role in both the administration and the party. He has become one of the most visible faces of the government, regularly interacting with the public, leading key initiatives and representing the party on important issues.

Political observers believe YSRCP now sees Lokesh as the future leader of the TDP. Earlier, the party may not have considered him a major political challenge. But as his influence and responsibilities have grown, the opposition appears to have shifted its strategy and started targeting him more aggressively.

Many believe this is also part of YSRCP’s long term political plan. Instead of focusing only on Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, the party is trying to build a direct political contest with Lokesh, who is widely seen as a key leader for the future.

Whether this strategy benefits YSRCP or helps Lokesh strengthen his image will become clear in the coming years. But one thing is certain. Lokesh has now become one of the biggest political targets in Andhra Pradesh.
