The last time Kurnool was in discussion to be the judicial capital of Andhra Pradesh, the then CM Jagan was clueless about his three capitals proposal, and this went absolutely nowhere. But the current government and the relevant IT minister Lokesh appear to be very clear about this.
In his massive public meeting in the Rayalaseema region today, Lokesh made a big announcement regarding the establishment of High Court bench in Kurnool very soon.
Lokesh announced in this public meeting that Kurnool would be getting a special High Court bench within 90 days and assured that he would see to it.
The government of Andhra Pradesh had always been proactively working on bringing multiple renewable energy projects to the Seema region and also certain automobile plants. Now there is a full scale plan to develop colonel as the judicial capital.
Previously, Jagan could not deliver on his promise of developing Kurnool and discussed him badly as this mass belt sided with the TDP in the previous election. Now, the TDP leadership under Lokesh appears to be out on the mission of consolidating the Kurnool vote base in their favour.
If Lokesh delivers on his promise and brings the High Court bench to Kurnool within three months, it could boost TDP’s fundamental strength in the region while taking a historically strong YCP segment away from Jagan’s grasp.
