Students Are Safe, Criminals Won’t Be Spared

The Central Government has clarified that students and citizens who participated in the recent protests will not face legal action if they have no criminal background. It has instructed police in the National Capital Territory to avoid taking action against those with a clean record.

However, the Centre said the same relief will not apply to people with serious criminal histories. Authorities have reportedly identified several such individuals among those who took part in the protests and said legal action will continue against them. Multiple FIRs have already been registered as part of the investigation.

Meanwhile, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) warned the government against harassing innocent protesters. The party said it would launch fresh protests if people who peacefully participated in the demonstrations were targeted by police.
