Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the Bhogapuram International Airport, marking a major milestone for Andhra Pradesh. The airport is expected to transform air connectivity and give a big boost to the development of North Andhra.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, along with several Union and State ministers, MPs and MLAs, attended the grand inauguration ceremony.
Lakhs of people gathered at the venue to witness the historic event. Thousands of tribal women and students welcomed the Prime Minister with the traditional Dhimsa dance, showcasing the rich tribal culture of the region. The venue was decorated with welcome banners and party flags, creating a festive atmosphere.
Heavy security arrangements were made for the Prime Minister’s visit. Thousands of police personnel were deployed, while CCTV cameras monitored the entire venue to ensure smooth conduct of the programme.
The Bhogapuram International Airport is expected to become a major gateway for North Andhra. It will improve domestic and international air connectivity, making travel easier for passengers and businesses. The airport is also expected to boost tourism, attract investments and generate employment opportunities in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts.
The Andhra Pradesh government believes the airport will play a key role in the state’s economic growth. Along with improving connectivity, it is expected to encourage industries, IT companies and tourism projects, helping North Andhra emerge as a major growth centre in the coming years.
