Political Party Handles or Fan War Accounts?

While allegations and counter-allegations are common in politics, what has now become normal is social media wars. The politics in Telangana is no different. Both the ruling Congress and opposition BRS are indulging in mudslinging. Taking this to a new low, the official social media handles of BRS and Congress started using AI and morphing pictures to demean one another.

While BRS shared a group picture of BJP leaders and included Congress leader and CM Revanth Reddy among them by alleging that the Congress and BJP state leadership in Telangana have colluded. Giving a strong counter, the Congress official handle in X shared a picture of BRS working president and former minister KTR’s picture and placed him at the feet of the BJP leaders.

This is certainly unhealthy and unwelcoming. There is a thin line in terms of political war, but erasing such lines and attacking personally others and even going to the extent of using AI and morphing pictures and taking to social media to bring each other down is not at all apreciable. 

All these are really irking neutral and balanced people on social media platforms. Telangana needs matured politics with issue-centric and issue-based discussions and debates, not personal targeting that too stooping so low using AI and photo-editing techniques. Let’s hope both the Congress and BRS put an end to this at least now.
