BJP Internal Revamp: Not A Single Post For Telangana!

Since the last couple of elections, BJP has been witnessing a steady upward spiral in Telangana political scene. This is reflecting in the increased number of seats that the party has been able to secure the assembly and Parliament elections since 2023.

However, the BJP has been very restrictive when it comes to allocating significant cabinet positions to Telangana based leaders. Only Bandi Sanjay and Kishan Reddy have been able to get central rankings in the administration.

Coming to the topic now, there is something interesting happening as the BJP has announced the new list of office bearers for the party. This is a significant decision as the party has granted internal positions to long time loyalists and hardworking members.

The sad part for Telangana politicians, here is that not a single post has been allocated to any of the BJP leaders from the Telangana state. Andhra Pradesh has a couple of representatives while there is one from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. But there is no representation for Telangana in the new list of BJP office bearers.

At a time when the BJP is growing so rapidly in the state of Telangana, this is a pretty redundant move from the central leadership to have no representation from the state in the administrative ranks.

Many political observers believe the lack of Telangana representation could be linked to the controversies surrounding some of the state’s top BJP leaders and the repeated internal clashes within the party. The leadership may be looking to avoid further friction and maintain a more balanced organisational structure ahead of the crucial GHMC battle.

This could be particularly detrimental for the party at the leadership level as the working leadership could be disappointed with the same. This is all the more relevant, considering that BJP is preparing for the big fight in the upcoming GHMC election.

The timing of this announcement and the lack of Telangana representation could have a significant impact within the Telangana leadership ranks. It has to be seen how the top leadership would be dealing with the situation now.
