After a month long break and growing uncertainty over the diplomatic consensus to end the prolonged conflict, both US and Iran sides have resumed attacks late Sunday night.
Reportedly, American forces carried out unprovoked military strikes against Iranian targets near Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz. These strikes said to have destroyed rocket launchers operated by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, which were allegedly preparing to place sea mines in the crucial shipping route.
In a quick response, Iran fired ballistic missiles toward American military installations in the Middle East region. Military defenses in Jordan reported stopping eight incoming missiles, while unconfirmed reports also noted explosions near US positions in Qatar.
Senior Iranian officials warned that Washington made a serious mistake and promised stronger action in response.
The sudden military action immediately impacted global energy markets, causing international oil prices to rise almost two percent due to fear of restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz.
