The government of Andhra Pradesh had been proactive when it comes leading the AI charge in India. This is the reason why the government is conceptualising Amaravati as the AI hub by inviting multiple tech biggies to set up campuses here.
Along with that, there is the elaborate plan to develop India’s biggest AI hub in Vizag and this project is being carried out by Google with an investment of around $15 billion. This wants to be the biggest AI Centre in India by a comfortable margin and construction has been initiated already.
And now we have a positive development in this direction in Hyderabad, as the city is also going to get 1 GW data Centre that will be developed and executed by Tata.
TCS subsidiary HyperVault is set to establish the country’s largest AI data center campus in Hyderabad, spanning over 250 acres with a 1,000 MW capacity.
This project, undertaken with an investment of approximately Rs.70,000 crore, will generate around 7,000 direct and indirect jobs.
An agreement of understanding was signed with the state government in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. This project, developed with green energy and a water-neutral design, marks a key step toward positioning Hyderabad as a global AI and data center hub.
It appears that the two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be witnessing significant AI progress through these data centre operations.
It is evident that Revanth Reddy has taken a leaf out of the book of his former boss, Chandrababu Naidu, when it comes to leading the AI charge. At the end of the day, AI is going to be the future of technology, and having strong infrastructure is crucial for Indian states.
