Andhra Gets Rs 1,000 Crore Coca-Cola Boost

Andhra is set to receive another major manufacturing investment, with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Limited (HCCBL) planning to invest ₹1,127 crore in the state.

The investment will be divided between Chittoor and Vizianagaram. The company will spend ₹842 crore on a new manufacturing unit in Vizianagaram and ₹285 crore on expanding its existing facility at Srikalahasti in Chittoor district. The proposal has been approved by the Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Committee.

The announcement comes as CBN has been pushing to attract large-scale manufacturing and food-processing investments through its Industrial Development Policy 4.0 (2024–29) and Food Processing Policy 4.0 (2024–29). The policies focus on improving ease of doing business, attracting private investment, developing industrial infrastructure and creating employment opportunities.

For the state, the investment is important because it spreads manufacturing activity across different parts of the state. The new Vizianagaram facility will strengthen industrial activity in North Andhra, while the Chittoor expansion will add capacity in the southern part of the state connecting all the south india and East India for bottle supply chain network distribution.

The Vizianagaram plant is planned with three bottling lines, initially producing up to 18 million cases annually. The facility will manufacture carbonated soft drinks, juices and tetra-pack products. A second phase is expected to add two more bottling lines with another 12 million cases of annual capacity.

At Srikalahasti in Chittoor, the company plans to add one packaged drinking water line and two carbonated soft-drink lines. Products including Coca-Cola, Thums Up, Sprite, Fanta, Limca and Kinley are expected to be manufactured at the expanded facility.

The projects also fit the state’s broader effort to build manufacturing and food-processing ecosystems rather than depend only on traditional industries. The state’s Food Processing Policy specifically seeks to increase investment and value addition in the sector.
