YS Viveka Murder: ‘Jagan, Bharathi and Avinash Benefitted’

A fresh political controversy has erupted over the murder of former Kadapa MP YS Vivekananda Reddy, with accused Yadati Sunil Yadav making serious allegations against former CM YS Jagan, his wife YS Bharathi and Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy. Vivea was brutally murdered at his own residence in Pulivendula on March 15, 2019 ahead of the general elections.

Sunil Yadav, the second accused in the case, made shocking allegations and alleged that Jagan, Bharathi and Avinash Reddy benefited from Viveka’s murder. He said the investigation should also focus on those who allegedly benefited from the killing instead of questioning only the accused in the case.

Speaking to a news channel, Sunil alleged that Jagan and Bharathi were behind Avinash Reddy, YS Bhaskar Reddy and D Siva Shankar Reddy in the alleged conspiracy. He demanded that Jagan and Bharathi should be made accused in the case and that the larger conspiracy behind the murder be investigated.

Yadav also claimed that Viveka could have become the Kadapa MP if he had been alive, suggesting that this could have been a possible reason for his murder. Sunil said he had no reason to kill Vivekananda Reddy and claimed that he had nothing to gain from his death.

Sunil Yadav stated that he would have benefited if Vivekananda Reddy had remained alive, saying the former minister could have helped him get the Yadav Corporation Chairman post and thus help his political career. Sunil also stated that he had shared details of the alleged conspiracy and financial transactions with the Enforcement Directorate.

Meanwhile, He stated that his life is in danger and is facing life threat and sought protection from the AP and Telangana governments.

He alleged that people associated with Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy attacked him soon after he was released from jail where he was four years in custody. Sunil stated that there were three such incidents and that police cases were registered in Pulivendula.

Sunil also cited that some key witnesses in the case, including Gangadhar Reddy and watchman Ranganna, died under suspicious circumstances. Sunil Yadav said he wanted to remain alive so that he could continue to speak about the case and urged the government to provide him security. Sunil said he is ready to fully cooperate with the ED and share whatever information he had about the YS Viveka murder case.

While these allegations were made by Sunil, neither Jagan and Bharathi nor Avinash Reddy has responded to them yet.
