Sharmila Has No Hopes for Local Polls?

Andhra Pradesh Congress president Sharmila, who had been very active in the election campaign before 2024 election has been rather inconsistent with her political campaigns in the recent past.

After achieving the main aim of bringing down Jagan from power, Sharmila had been on and off with her political activity. Recently, she was seen at the protest against the chief electoral officer, Gyanesh Kumar in Vijayawada and that’s about it.

While Andhra Pradesh is actively preparing for the upcoming local body election with the nomination procedure starting from tomorrow, October 16, Sharmila is nowhere to be seen.

It is a fact that the Congress party might not have a strong prospect in the electoral scene, considering that the party has already lost all of its cadre. But that does not mean that the party president Sharmila stays completely away from the action.

While there is so much activity happening with regard to the local body election, the complete silence of Sharmila with regard to candidate selection and poll preparation isn’t what’s expected from a firebrand leader like her, a seasoned Congress supporter commented.

YSR Congress is already struggling to fulfil the position of the opposition party with Jagan nowhere to be seen on the ground. So this perfectly opens up a new opportunity to Sharmila to grab this position space if she moves quick and smart.
