NDA Alliance Off to a Strong Start in Postal Ballot Counting

The strongest party in Andhra Pradesh, in terms of cadre strength and registered members, Telugu Desam is showing its full strength in the ongoing local election. The postal ballot trends that have started to emerge are projecting a strong TDP wave across Andhra Pradesh.

As of the numbers that are currently in circulation, TDP is leading in 90% of the municipalities that have completed the postal ballot counting.

TDP is leading in crucial segments like Vizag, Tirupati, Chittoor and others, which are key markers of the strength of the party.

The YSR Congress has also posted surprisingly high number of votes in the postal ballots. But this could largely be due to the Sachivalayam employees who are largely in support of the party anyway.

Janasena is posting reasonable numbers as well by leading in Amalapuram, Madakasira and Narsapuram. The combined strength of JSP and TDP is still pretty strong with the latter doing almost all the heavy lifting on its own.

The actual counting of public votes will be emerging shortly and this will paint a clearer picture. But it is already expected that the TDP will be sweeping the municipal elections by a tremendous margin nevertheless.
