Why Does YCP Always Get Rejected In Vizag?

The Candidates of Telugu Desam Party and its allies are ahead in all Corporations and Municipalities across Andhra Pradesh. The result of Vishakapatnam has shocked everyone.

The TDP Candidate Sravani won over YSR Congress Candidate Varudu Kalyani with over 2 Lakh Votes. This is a Mindboggling number.

YSR Congress had pinned high hopes on the anti-incumbency factor. Also, they thought Varudu Kalyani is a better orator and educated than the TDP candidate, would appeal to the Urban audiences.

But then, these results will shock them to the core. At least in the Rayalaseema region, they have the opportunity to say the Government used brute force to manipulate the result but Vizag election is largely peaceful.

Vishakapatnam, for some reason, is always averse to the YSR Congress. Ever since the state bifurcation, YSR Congress always struggled in Vishakapatnam.

In 2014 elections, the party lost all the four Assembly seats in the City and also the Parliament seat. In 2019, despite Jagan’s wave across the state, the party did not open its account in the City. However, they won the Parliament Seat as Janasena candidate cut the votes of TDP.

Again they went to the 2024 elections with the Plank of Vizag being the Executive Capital, the people rejected the party completely.

Hence YSR Congress dropped the three capitals and picked up MAVIGUN.

They tried to pick various issues like giving away lands at dirt cheap prices, etc.

These results even after close to three years in Power means YSR Congress may have to lose its hope completely on the Port City.
