The Municipal schools all over the state of Andhra Pradesh are going to witness a huge transformation as YCP government has signed a deal with the prestigious university, Cambridge, London.
Under the Transformation of Municipal Schools (TOMS) project, Cambridge will provide training in communication skills to all teachers in the municipal schools. About 8,000 teachers have been identified for training and certification and nearly 13,000 teachers would undergo up-skilling courses. This training will better their teaching skills which in turn help the students.
For students, the world’s reputed university will hold upskilling programs and around 14 integrated international labs for English, Maths and Science in the state and a centre in each district at the headquarters. A special and separate centre would come up with AP CM YS Jagan’s constituency Pulivendula first and then the rest would follow.
The Cambridge University will provide the required faculty, trainers, software and counsellors at free of cost and will also set up digital e-curriculum content creation studios as part of Municipal Learning Management System (MLMS).
The commissioner and director of municipal administration (CDMA) is directed to implement this initiative and Rs 36 crore has been sanctioned for the Annual Education Work and Finance Plan (EWFP) plan.
