Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram fumed at Opposition leader and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu not to stoke communal feelings even while the YCP government was trying to identify the culprits behind the Ramatheertham incident and punish them.
He asked Naidu to remember the Alipiri incident when Lord Balaji himself sent a warning to him and lamented that the Opposition leader was not able to learn a lesson even after the attempt on his life.
The Speaker questioned Naidu on whom was he trying to throw the blame by inciting communal feelings. Naidu should try to condemn the incident because separating the head from the torso of the idol is a moral crime in this Veda Bhoomi where Lord Rama was born.
Sitaram said that nobody would support the crime which sounded like even the YCP would not indulge in such acts.
The government is trying to catch hold of the culprits behind the vandalisation of the ancient idols and punish them strictly, he iterated.
