BJP MP Sujana Chowdary made it clear that special category status to Andhra Pradesh will not be a reality even if Chief Minsiter Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was made the Prime Minister.
Speaking to media on the Budget introduced by Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Chowdary continued saying, “We are not able to understand what Jagan is doing during his tour to New Delhi. Jagan is more interested in getting dismissed the cases registered against him than in securing funds for the state’s interest.”
Chowdary said that it was unfortunate to know that the YCP termed the budget as “election budget”.
He demanded that the YCP government should make public the infrastructure provided by it during its rule so far.
Further, the BJP MP said that even if former chief minister and Opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu was made the Prime Minister, he could not have accorded Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh, Chowdary said.
He lamented that the YCP leaders could not secure at least some portion of Rs 20,000 crore sanctioned under special package to Andhra Pradesh.
