The central government’s decision to privatize the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is being opposed by a large number of people. The movement is slowly gathering support from all corners. Today, Telangana minister KTR extended his complete support towards the agitation against the Center’s decision. Now, Megastar Chiranjeevi tweeted his support for the protest against Vizag steel plant privatization.
Chiranjeevi wrote, ‘Visakha Steel Plant is a symbol of numerous sacrifices. Let’s raise above parties and regions. With a Steely resolve, Let’s save Visakha Steel plant!’ in his tweet. Along with that, Chiru also emphasized his declaration of support to the Vizag Steel Plant Conservation Committee that is fighting against the privatization of the plant.
Chiru recalled the slogans ‘Visakha Ukku – Andhrula Hakku’ and said he could still hear the sound of them. The Megastar also recalled his college days at YS College, where he was part of many agitations and protests. He remembered the great agitation in which 35 people along with a 9-year-old kid sacrificed their lives for the Vizag steel plant. Chiru found fault with Government’s reasons to privatize the Steel Plant and asked the Central Govt to take the decision back.
Chiranjeevi reiterated that protecting Vizag Steel Plant is our primary duty and this is our right that is beyond any political party or a region. Well, with Chiranjeevi leading the way from the Telugu film industry, towards the agitation in protecting the Steel Plant, we have to see if others follow him.
