The Election Commission of India has announced the by-election schedule for Tirupati Parliament seat and Nagarjunasagar Assembly seat. Both the constituencies will go for polling on April 17th.
The election notification regarding the same will be released on March 23rd and the nominations will be accepted till March 30th. The next day the nominations will be scrutinized by the returning officers. The results of the by-poll will be declared on May 2nd.
Tirupati Lok Sabha seat was lying vacant with the death of MP Durga Prasad due to Covid-19 while MLA Nomula Narasimhaiah passed away due to age related issues which resulted in Nagarjunasagar by-election.
For TRS and YSRCP, this by-poll is very prestigious because the BJP is trying to bag them and show their stamina in the Telugu states.
