Following the cancellation of CBSE Class 10 Exams in view of surge in Covid-19 cases, the Centre has asked many respective state governments to rethink on holding class 10 board exams. Accordingly the Telangana state government has decided to cancel the class 10 exams.
Earlier in the day, the education minister and department officials had a meeting. In this it was decided to call off the exams. Initially the Telangana SSC exams were scheduled from May 17th to 26th and about 5.2 Lakh students were expected to take up the examinations.
Like the country, Telangana is showing a similar trend of cases because of the second wave. Telangana health department officials have warned that the next six weeks are going to be very crucial and suggested to stay indoors instead of venturing out.
The Telangana education ministry has taken the health department’s recommendations into consideration and cancelled the Class 10 exams. However, the Class 12 (Intermediate) exams are postponed and the schedule of these examinations will be taken at an appropriate time.
