Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been tested positive for Covid-19. 88-year-old Manmohan Singh has been admitted to AIIMS, Delhi. A team of experts at AIIMS are monitoring Singh’s health. Congress party’s senior leaders are also monitoring and observing his health condition. This is a day after Manmohan Singh wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on fighting Covid-19.
On Sunday, former PM Manmohan Singh wrote to PM Modi saying that the country is “facing an unprecedented emergency” and asked the Centre to make public details of the orders placed by the Government for Covid vaccine doses and indicate the strategy for them to be distributed in a transparent manner.
Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan’s reply to Manmohan Singh has received backlash from several corners. Harsh Vardhan in his reply to Manmohan Singh had alleged that, “Congress fuelled vaccine hesitancy and played with the lives of people.”
It can be noted that India’s total tally of COVID-19 cases crossed the 1.50-crore mark with around 25 lakh cases being added in just 15 days.
