Mamata To Take Oath For The Third Time On May 5th

With a thumping victory in the Assembly elections, Mamata Banerjee is getting ready to take oath as Chief Minister of West Bengal for the third time. Earlier in the day, Mamata held a meeting with party leaders at the TMC party head office in Kolkata and discussed the swearing in ceremony.

In the closed doors meeting with party leaders, Mamata appealed to maintain peace. Post the results, BJP office in Kolkata was attacked by unidentified men. “I appeal to everyone to maintain peace and not indulge in any violence. We know BJP and Central Forces have tortured us a lot but we have to maintain peace. At present, we have to fight COVID19,” said Mamata to the party supporters.

The 63 year old is also mulling to move to court against the Nandigram counting. She said that she received an SMS which read that the returning officer of Nandigram received life threats to declare the result against Mamata.

Most likely tomorrow, the new elected MLAs will be meeting and everyone would be strengthening Mamata’s name for the CM chair. However, with Mamata losing from Nandigram, she will have six months time to get elected from any constituency in the state.

The venue and time of the swearing in ceremony will be announced post the TMC Legislative Party meeting.
