Usually during the Ramzan season, Hyderabad’s icon Charminar witnesses a massive crowd. Despite the second wave, people were spotted in large numbers shopping till Tuesday but the whole scene changed on Wednesday. With lockdown coming into force, the heritage structure and its surrounding areas have sported a desert look.
Except for a couple of two-wheelers here and there, everything is shut at Charminar. The police are in place to avoid unnecessary gatherings and are questioning people who are spotted on the roads. People with valid reason are being allowed while medical shops are operating as usual.
Also the Hyderabad police have placed check points on all the major roads in the twin cities. Ambulances and goods are moving freely while the regular check-ups are being done. Police are not sparing miscreants who are needlessly coming on to the roads.
