Shocking: Shailaja Teacher doesn’t get cabinet berth!

In the recent Kerala Assembly elections, Left Democratic Front (LDF) created a history to retain the power. The LDF led new government is all set to take over and the swearing in ceremony of Pinarayi Vijayan as CM is scheduled on May 20^th.

Accordingly, the names for council of ministers were also locked and to everyone’s shock one name went missing. That name is KK Shailaja who is popularly called as Shailaja Teacher. She was the health minister in Vijayan’s first cabinet and she won laurels for her work in containing the global pandemic from all over the world.

For her work, the people of Mattanur made her create history. She won with a record majority of over 60,000 votes and that’s a huge in Kerala polls and politics. Even CM Vijayan could not manage to get such majority.

Under these circumstances, many thought Shailaja would be retained but to everyone’s surprise she is excluded. And what’s strange is no minister in the previous cabinet got a second chance and all the going to be ministers are new faces. The only familiar face is CM Vijayan.

Defending their stand CPM party said, “No one from the earlier LDF ministry is part of the new ministry except for the Chief Minister.”

But there are rumours within the Left parties that Shailaja’s credibility has grown multiple folds than that of CM Vijayan and so she was snubbed.

This is a poor practice from the Left parties and now the new health minister of Kerala will be under extreme pressure to perform like Shailaja. At least Shailaja should have been the health minister until the Covid-19 influence comes down in the state.
