The Green India Challenge, which initially started in Telangana state capital Hyderabad, spread its wings in no time, has attracted common man and celebrities alike, encouraging one and all in planting saplings, watering trees, safeguarding the flora and in nurturing Mother Nature.
Proposed and launched by Member of Parliament Joginapally Santosh Kumar almost three years ago, Green India Challenge gets acclamation from none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
PM in his message stated, “It is indeed heartening to lean about ‘Green India Challenge’, an endeavour to plant saplings and increase the green cover across the country. Heartiest congratulations on undertaking this noble initiative to preserve a cleaner, greener environment.”
About “Vriksha Vedam” book, PM said, “The gesture to bring out the book titled “Vriksha Vedam” will educate the people, particularly our youth about the holistic relationship between mankind and nature. I am sure that your initiative will gather further pace.”
MP Santosh Kumar thanked PM Modi for his encouraging words on Green India Challenge.
