The Telangana state government has procured brand new MUVs (Multi-Utility Vehicles) for its 32 Additional Collectors. The government bought brand new Kia Carnivals to distribute to the Additional Collectors. The cars were procured by the RTA. Before the distribution, the Kia Carnival fleet is seen at CM Camp Office Pragati Bhavan.
CM KCR personally checked the cars before the distribution. The cars were later flagged off by Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay and Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar. The Additional Collectors are soon going to get hands-on on the new Kia Carnivals.
Meanwhile, this act drew mixed reactions from netizens as the state is going through difficult times due to the second-wave of Covid-19 pandemic. Many have lamented the government for splurging money on brand new cars for collectors whereas several RTC buses, used for commuting by common people, are in bad condition. Few other netizens demanded the state government to enhance the medical facilities at the government hospitals at rapid pace.
