Former Kerala CM and AP Congress Affairs incharge Oommen Chandy made notable comments on Megastar Chiranjeevi. Chandy stated that Chiru is no longer with Congress. Post AP Bifurcation, Chiru continued for some time in politics and after this Rajya Sabha membership ended, he completely distanced himself from politics.
There have been many reports and interpretations that Chiru would return to politics at an appropriate time but Chiru never officially commented on his comeback. In 2017, Chiru made a re-entry into films and has been doing back-to-back films since then. Currently he has three films in the pipeline and hardly has time for politics.
The comment from Chandy is more of a clarification that Chiranjeevi has quit politics and is busy with his usual business i.e, cinema.
After floating Praja Rajyam Party, Chiru later merged with Congress and became Tourism Minister in the cabinet of Manmohan Singh. But the AP Bifurcation has seriously hurt him.
