TikTok in Hot Water Over Child Privacy Concerns

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is accusing TikTok and its parent company ByteDance of failing to protect children’s privacy. This comes after a previous settlement in 2019 for similar violations. The FTC believes TikTok may be collecting data from users under 13 without parental consent, which is against US law. No further details on the accusations were provided, but the Department of Justice will now be involved in the investigation.
