IIT Bombay Penalizes $1.2 Lakh Fine for Controversial Ramayana Play

A recent drama performance at IIT Bombay, loosely based on the Ramayana, has sparked controversy. The play, titled ‘Raahovan’, was staged on March 31 and faced criticism from many students who felt it hurt Hindu sentiments. The institute has imposed a fine of Rs. 1.2 lakh each on some students involved in the play, while others were fined Rs. 40,000 and junior students were banned from hostel facilities.
