Researchers have uncovered a vast necropolis in Aswan, Egypt, containing approximately 1,400 mummies across 36 tombs spanning 2.7 square kilometers. Believed to date back over 4,500 years, the site is thought to have been used for mass burials of those infected with contagious diseases. Archaeologists spent five years meticulously mapping and excavating this remarkable ancient cemetery.
