Meta has reinstated former US President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts ahead of the 2024 elections. The company stated it is their responsibility to allow political leaders freedom of expression, while advising candidates against hate speech. Trump’s accounts were banned in 2021 following the Capitol attack.
