Husband Has No Right Over Wife’s Parental Property

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has ruled that a husband has no claim over property a woman inherits from her parents if she dies without children. Citing Section 15(2)(a) of the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, the court said such property must go to the heirs of the woman’s father, not the husband or his family.
