AI Makes History: First Live AI Assisted Brain Surgery

A 48 year old UK man has become the world’s first patient to undergo brain tumour surgery with live AI assistance. Doctors in London used AI to analyse live surgical footage and identify critical structures during the operation. The 11mm tumour was successfully removed, while the patient’s vision was preserved.
