The GST Council has scrapped the arrest powers of tax officers and raised the prosecution threshold from ₹1 crore to ₹5 crore. It also approved easier compliance norms for small e-commerce sellers. The Council retained the existing GST rate structure, with no changes announced at the latest meeting.
