Megastar Chiranjeevi was in full praise of Olympic silver medallist Saikhom Mirabai Chanu for her gesture towards trucker drivers who have given her free ride.
Going into details, Mirabai Chanu hails from Manipur’s Imphal. However for her training purpose she used to travel from her village Nongpok Kakching in Imphal East district to Khuman Lampak sports complex in Imphal. As she comes from an underprivileged background, Mirabai Chanu used to find it tough to manage the travel expenses.
So every day Mirabia Chanu requested a free ride from truck drivers. For many days she travelled from her village to the sports complex for free. After returning to the country with a medal, she decided to express her gratitude towards truck drivers.
But it took a week for Mirabai Chanu to trace all the truck drivers and after getting to know the details of each and every driver, she invited them to her home and hosted a lunch. Later she represented gifts and even took blessings.
This gesture has gone viral and it even left an impression on Megastar Chiranjeevi. “1st thing #MirabaiChanu did on returning from her glorious #Olympics feat was to find & honor 150 truck drivers who had helped her commute to & fro the #ImphalSportsAcademy 25kms away during her training.Such Great gesture of gratitude.Ur heart is #TrueGold Salute @mirabai_chanu,” tweeted Chiru.
Earlier it was business tycoon Anand Mahindra who applauded this gesture and now it’s Megastar Chiranjeevi. Take a bow Mirabai Chanu!
