Just a few months back, everyone thought that his chapter is closed. It was speculated that we cannot see this legend lift a grand slam trophy once again. But he has beaten all the odds and emerged as a grand slam winner once again. Yes, you guessed it right. We are talking about the Tennis legend Rafael Nadal.

This Spanish player has beaten Daniil Medvedev in the Australian Open Finals last night and won his 21st grand slam title, which is the highest for any player in Men’s Singles category. With this win, he crossed his arch-rivals Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, who have 20 Grand Slam titles under their belts respectively.

In this epic final which lasted for almost 6 hours, Nadal defeated Medvedev with a score of 2-6 6-7(5) 6-4 6-4 7-5. Rafa lost the first two sets and everyone thought that the game will be finished in the third set. But he made a stunning comeback and won the next three sets.

Medvedev also gave a tough fight for Rafa but it was the latter’s experience that proved to be successful in the end.

The whole sporting world is overjoyed with this epic win of Rafa and has been showering him with praises. His dear friend Roger Federer also shared a heartfelt post and congratulated his buddy.

For the unversed, both Djokovic and Federer missed the tournament because the former was forced out by deportation and the latter is recovering from a knee injury.
