The Covid-19 is haunting the Indian Premier League yet again and till date three positive cases have been reported in the team Delhi Capitals’ camp. It all started last Friday with the team’s physio Patrick Farhart tested positive of the virus and a day later one more case was detected.
On Monday an overseas player is said to have infected the virus going by the RT-CPR test. The BCCI stepped into action with the virus threat and advised Delhi Capitals team to call off their travel to Pune. A fresh round of RT-CPR test will be conducted to all the players today and check if any player is infected further.
Delhi will be clashing Punjab Kings on Wednesday and there is a huge suspense surrounding this match. If players in the DC camp test positive for Covid-19, the match could be doubtful and eventually will impact the whole schedule and tournament.
In order to stop the spread of the virus, the BCCI passed on fresh instructions of no handshakes or hugging between players to avoid any possible transmission. With the news hitting the headlines, social media is caught by the trend of ‘Cancel IPL.’
The scars of 2021 are being recollected by the cricket fans. The 2021 IPL commenced amidst the second wave in the country and midway the tournament was indefinitely suspended by the BCCI with players testing positive for the virus.
