David Miller: Unsold In The Auction; Hero in Playoffs

Gujarat Titans had defeated Rajasthan Royals last night and cruised into the final of IPL 2022. This is the maiden season of GT and it managed to enter the final in its first season itself.

In the qualifier match held last night, GT defeated RR by 7 wickets. The former needed 16 runs in the last over. South African batter David Miller had hit three consecutive sixes in the first three balls and sealed the victory for his team with three balls left.

He remained unbeaten by scoring 68 off 38 balls. He was awarded the Man of the Match as well. Meanwhile, do you know that Miller was the first unsold player during the IPL 2022 mega auction?

Yes. No team was interested in buying him for a base price of Rs. 2 crores. Thus, he remained unsold in the first round. Finally, he was bought by Gujarat in another round for a lesser price. Now, he is the second-highest scorer for his team with 449 runs under his belt.

Not only him, but Wriddhiman Saha and Matthew Wade also went unsold in the first round of the mega auction. But they were later bought by GT and they proved their worth in crucial moments. While Wade scored 35 off 30 balls last night, Saha has been impressive by scoring 310 runs in 10 games he played for the team.

One team among Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals will face Gujarat in the final that will be held on May 29.
