Arshdeep Singh Gets Brutally Trolled For Catch Drop

Team India lost to Pakistan last night in a nail-biting thriller. In the Super 4 match of the Asia Cup, Pakistan defeated India by 5 wickets. Though India had the match in control for half of the second innings, Pak batters came to all guns blazing in the last few overs.

Meanwhile, a catch dropped by young player Arshdeep Singh proved to be costly for India. In the 17th over bowled by Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep dropped a sitter hit by Asif Ali. After that catch drop, Asif Ali went on to win the game for his team.

The entire social media went berserk after that catch drop. Many netizens trolled Arshdeep for dropping such a simple catch. But one needs to understand that he is a young cricketer who made his international debut just a few months ago. Playing a high-pressure game and that too against Pakistan will never be easy for any Indian player.

One needs to keep his head calm in such situations and that comes through experience. All these things are a part of the game and Arshdeep shouldn’t be blamed for it.

On the other side, many current and former players as well as a section of netizens supported Arshdeep. Captain Rohit Sharma and star player Virat Kohli backed Arshdeep and said that mistakes can happen in such games.

Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh supported Arshdeep by tweeting, “Stop criticising young @arshdeepsinghh .. No one drops the catch purposely..we are proud of our boys .. Pakistan played better.. shame on such people who r putting our own guys down by saying cheap things on this platform about Arsh and team.. Arsh is GOLD..”
