Suresh Raina Announces Retirement From All Forms Of Cricket

Former International Cricketer from India, 35-year-old Suresh Raina has announced his retirement from all forms of the game. Raina, who earlier retired from International cricket in 2020, announced his retirement from IPL, T20, domestic cricket. 

Taking to Twitter, Raina wrote, “It has been an absolute honour to represent my country & state UP. I would like to announce my retirement from all formats of Cricket. I would like to thank @BCCI, @UPCACricket, @ChennaiIPL, @ShuklaRajiv sir & all my fans for their support and unwavering faith in my abilities.”

Raina was not picked in this IPL’s auction. Rana was part of Chennai Super Kings but was unsold in this year’s auction. Raina was left-hand batsman and even played for 2011 World Cup in which India emerged as the winner.

Suresh Raina has played 226 ODI matches for the country and scored 5615 runs at an average of 35.31 with his highest score being 116 not out. When it comes to T20Is, he played 78 matches and scored 1065 runs. He was also the first Indian player to score a century in the shortest format of the game.

Raina had retired from international cricket on Aug 15, 2020 on the same day when MS Dhoni announced his retirement as well. With his latest statement, Raina has drawn down curtains on his successful career in cricket.
