Wrestlers’ FIRs Against Brij Bhushan Have Shocking Allegations

The ongoing protest by women wrestlers against the alleged sexual advances by Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been escalated to the next level after the FIR details came out yesterday.

Based on the complaints of seven women wrestlers at Delhi’s Connaught Place police station, the two FIRs with six adults’ complaints and a separate one based on the complaint of a minor’s father, the two FIRs were filed on April 28.

The allegations include Brij Bhushan groping women athletes, asking inappropriate personal questions, demanding sexual favors to back their careers, brushing hands against minor’s breasts and stalking her, and more.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct. He challenges them to prove a single allegation and he will hang himself if it is proven. ‘If you have any evidence, present it to the court, and I am ready to accept any punishment,’ he said.

The wrestlers have been demanding to remove the chief’s removal accusing him of sexual harassment in the most atrocious manner. They further revealed in the complaints that all the women athletes traveled in groups whenever they left their rooms to avoid running into Brij Bhushan Singh alone and even then he singled out athletes from their groups and asked inappropriate personal questions.

One complaint said,’ I was called by the accused who pulled up my T-shirt, slid his hand down my stomach, and put his hand on my navel on the pretext of checking my breath.’

Another complainant said when she suffered an injury during a competition abroad, Brij allegedly said the federation is ready to bear the cost of her treatment if she gave in to his sexual advances.
