Ahead of the IPL 2025, all the franchises are expected to submit their retention lists to BCCI.
With each team allowed to retain up to six players (a maximum of five capped and two uncapped players), franchises make significant decisions. Star Sports and JioCinema will announce the official retention lists at 5 p.m. today.
Sunrisers Hyderabad seemed to have played it safe, and their retention list is reportedly in sync with what the fans expect from them. The team reportedly retains Klassen, Cummins, Abhishek, Nitish, and Head, and we have to wait for the official list.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the defending champions, are reportedly making bold moves. In a surprising twist, they may release their star all-rounder, Andre Russell, into the auction pool. Additionally, KKR may also release captain Shreyas Iyer.
Another notable exit may include Mitchell Starc, acquired in the IPL 2024 mini-auction for a record price of Rs. 24.75 crores. Narine, Rinku, Varun, and Harshit are the retained players.
Meanwhile, CSK aims to retain Ruturaj, Jadeja, Dube, Pathirana and MS Dhoni. Lucknow Super Giants want to retain Pooran, Bishnoi, Mayank, Badoni and Mohsin.
Rajasthan Royals reportedly retained Sanju, Jaiswal, Parag, and Sandeep. Gujarat Titans reportedly retained Gill, Rashid, Sai, Tewatia, and Shahrukh.
