Virat Kohli is one of the most talented players in the world cricket right now. He is a legend in IPL as well. But, a few bowlers have upper hand on Kohli in this tournament. One of them is Sandeep Sharma. In fact, Sandeep is the most successful bowler against Kohli in IPL. He has dismissed Kohli seven times, which is the most by any bowler in the history of this tournament.
Sandeep achieved this feat after dismissing Kohli last night in the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore. He got the wicket in the fifth over of the innings. Kohli went on for a shot against Sandeep’s slower delivery but it eventually landed in the hands of Kane Williamson at the short extra cover.
Ashish Nehra has dismissed Kohli six times in the IPL. Mitchell McClenaghan, Mohammed Shami and Dhawal Kulkarni have dismissed Kohli thrice in their respective IPL careers. On the flip side, Sandeep Sharma also equalled the record of Zaheer Khan in most dismissals against a single batsman. Zaheer dismissed MS Dhoni seven times in IPL. Sandeep was quite elated for making this record against Kohli. He said that Kohli is one of the greats and getting his wicket is always special. Sunrisers won against RCB by five wickets in this match.
