What Irony! Vizag Produces The Best Game of IPL 2025

The ongoing season of the Indian Premier League started off on a rather uninteresting note. The first game was a straightforward win for RCB followed by an insane run fest by SRH who swept away Rajasthan. And then, the hyped Mumbai vs Chennai game was a silent burner.

However, ironically enough, the Vizag Stadium, which has been looking for representation in the IPL for a long time now has produced the best game of the season so far.

After Delhi Capitals picked Vizag stadium as their home ground for the first two matches this season, the international stadium here hosted its first game yesterday. Delhi faced Lucknow in this game and it was a super interesting game that had ebs and flows from start to finish.

First, Lucknow got to 209 runs and set a target of 210 to Delhi. In response, Delhi started on disaster note by losing 4 wickets in the powerplay. But this was when the real deal started as Delhi fought their way back into the game in the closing stages.

Courtesy of a super strong finish to their innings, Delhi could somehow miraculously got back in the game in the final six overs. Ashutosh Sharma was the star of the show with his quick fire 66. He was fiercely supported by young Vipraj who got to 39 off just 15.

In the final over, Delhi needed just 6 runs from 6 balls but the issue was that they had just 1 wicket in hand. This was when Ashutosh scripted remarkable six and won the game for Delhi.

From not having representation in the IPL, the Vizag stadium when on to deliver the most intense and interesting game of the tournament this year. IPL has well and truly arrived with this game today.
